Understanding our style is important because it enables us to operate effectively in the world. They say that relationship selling is dead. I don’t agree. People buy from people they like. Yes, you need to have a solution that enables them to increase revenue, customer satisfaction, streamline a process, provide value. Value is a perception, not a calculation. Value is something people feel not something we tell them they get.
Living Consciously using the 5 C’s
Operating principles define how we operate and interconnect with the world. Some people and companies call them their values. Some people see them as the ground rules. They inform the essence of who we are in the world and encompass the attitude and aptitude of how live. Over the years I have used these 5 C’s to inform decisions, relationships, career choices, and as guiding principles in leading organizations to significant levels of achievement. Every organization has their mission statement and their values. The opportunity is for you to define your personal mission and values and live by them in your business and your personal life. They are the essence of you.
The 5 C’s are communication, collaboration, commitment, competence, and creativity. They represent the five pillars upon which I stand and impacts the choices I make, moment to moment. You can use mine or define your own. These are the ones that I have come to embrace, have endured the test of time, and have served others along the way. What are some of yours?
- Communication is the foundation upon which all interaction is built with our self and others. It shapes how we receive and perceive. Using words, body language, thoughts, actions, and heart-focused energy creates our personal and global world.
A friend of mine eliminated all words from his vocabulary that are negative or violent, e.g. ‘dead’ tired, ‘starving’, ‘crazed’. By substituting feeling words that are positive and peaceful, he lives in a world of feelings and fulfillment.
Consider the possibility of having different results if we change our attitude, our routine, our way of relating to others, or our facial expressions. These are all forms of communication. A friend of mine bought a necklace that said, “SMILE”. She put it on and went out into the world living her life and doing the things she usually did. To her surprise and delight, everywhere she went people responded to her differently than they had before. They smiled at her, were generous with words and actions, opened their hearts to conversation and connection. It transformed her world. One word! What word would change yours?
The opportunity is to elevate how we connect using our vibrational energy. Imagine that we operate like sonar, sending out energy all the time until we get a ping. Depending on the volume, intensity, and resonance, we know how deep a connection we’ve made with another’s vibration. Connecting at a level that transcends words. We are like a radio station and are tuned to a specific frequency that is ours alone. We are always transmitting. When we encounter something or someone that resonates with our frequency… the bells go off! It’s that gut reaction, the inner voice, the Zing! Whether it’s people, or a place, or a thing, i.e. nature, or a pair of shoes that we must have, we know it by the way that we feel. By amplifying our energy, we are more sensitive to others and have the ability to plug into their energy at a level that is aligned with us at the core of our being. This is the heart of Be the Energy!
Energy Activating Techniques: E.A.T.
- Use a mirror when speaking to someone remotely
- Choose a word that inspires you and others
- Speak from the diaphragm and practice using different tones
- Create a new habit, e.g. smiling when you see someone whether you know them or not
2. Collaboration is surrounding our self with ‘like-minded’ or ‘like-feeling’ people who reflect who we are and how we operate in life. Find ways to connect with others through belief systems, shared practices, explore the big and small questions, and gain their perspective to inform yours. Leveraging our respective strengths to create synergy relative to new ideas, products, services, and strategies.
This is easily done in today’s connected world. There are social groups of every kind where people share thoughts and perspectives on both a personal and global level. This could be going to the gym, joining a group, taking a class, participating in a book club, or sharing experiences and expertise using social media. It is how business is done and relationships grow. Connect with others, use your voice, and hear theirs. It is the basis for ‘crowd sourcing’ in today’s terms. Companies are using it to create and refine their offerings or to change or maintain a culture. Create a community that celebrates your belief systems and reinforces the beliefs that are central to who we are at the core of our being.
Energy Activating Techniques: E.A.T.
- Join groups that reflect your interests or lifestyle
- Identify personality styles of friends, family, co-workers, customers, prospects
- Match vibrational frequencies through feeling their energy
- Be interested and interesting by doing your homework
- Operate from your heart, not your head, and focus on how can you can be of service
3. Commitment is driven by our desire to live life to our fullest potential. Daily practices, conscious decisions about how we operate from moment to moment to stay in our heart and be open to all possibilities, surrounding our self with positive people, creating a loving home in which we live, sending loving energy to all people, creatures, plants, and objects, results in an energy ‘conversation’ with that person, creature, plant or object. It is a decision and a lifestyle that we embrace and exemplify in everything we do, how we speak, and how we operate. Focusing on the pleasure of life influences the decisions we make. Being committed to living a life of pleasure will determine what movie you see, what food you eat, and what career you choose. It is your choice to be the best version of yourself.
“We are the embodiment of the information we choose to accept and act upon. To change our circumstances we need to change our thinking and subsequent actions”.
Adlin Sinclair
It is important to us, as a species, that we believe we are making a difference, contributing to a cause, and influencing something bigger than ourselves. This belief feeds the life we live and the work that we do. Alignment of that belief system and our life or work happens gives us a sense of purpose. We are her to serve a purpose. What is yours?
Energy Activating Techniques: E.A.T.
- Know who you are and what is important to you
- Meditate, read, pray for guidance and support
- Listen to your inner voice, it knows what’s best for you
- Believe
4. Competence is an ongoing process, especially today where technology enables increased communication and collaboration, it also requires constant learning. Like life.
“Competence, like truth, beauty, and contact lenses, is in the eye of the beholder.”
Dr. Laurence J. Peter
From my perspective, competence is honing existing skills and developing new ones. I see it as a two dimensional model; skills and techniques on one side, emotional intelligence on the other. It is the X Factor that makes the difference. Both can be learned, one is external, the other internal. Continual improvement means just that, it is ongoing. Do you ever wonder why your 5 yr. old child, nephew, grandchild is so much better at video games than you are? Because they are doing them all the time. The hone their skill and their instinct to anticipate the next move. A very valuable combination of skills that serve us in life and in business.
Energy Activating Techniques: E.A.T.
- Become the expert on who you are
- Develop your Emotional Intelligence
- Ask, “How can I be of service?”
- Be open to vibrating through meditation, humming, singing, tapping
5. Creativity is looking at our self and the world from a different perspective and applying the skills, knowledge, and lessons learned to new situations, relationships, and challenges. One of my pet peeves is the statement, “This is the way we’ve always done it”. My approach is to Re-look, Re-evaluate, Re-fine (the new 3R’s) all aspects of our life, our work, and our relationships to ensure they are aligned with our values and belief systems.
“Creativity is a great motivator because…it makes people interested in what they are doing,
gives hope that there can be a worthwhile idea,
gives the possibility of some sort of achievement to everyone,
and makes life more fun and more interesting.”
Challenge the status quo! Ask why or why not? Is it working/not working? How could we do it more effectively, efficiently, so that it has greater impact? Leverage others, brainstorm, use social media, network, read, watch videos, look for new ideas, ways to do things differently. Take risks. Life is a learning process. Some ideas will work, some won’t. We won’t know which ones will create a new reality unless we experiment and explore.
Energy Activating Techniques: E.A.T.
- 3 R’s – Re-look, Re-evaluate, Re-fine
- Take risks, learn, integrate, apply, iterate
- Answer the two questions about your life and your world
- Have fun and experiment
- Be open to vibrating at a higher level
Life is happening for you, not to you. Define it on your terms based on your values and live it with passion. Try some of the techniques and see, feel, experience how they transform your world. That is my purpose. To elevate your spirit and inspire you to create a new reality. Thanks for reading!
Crawl, Walk, Run
Tapping into our internal Points of Power happens in steps and builds over time. Transforming how we think and operate isn’t like flipping a switch. It’s more like a dimmer switch. It illuminates as quickly or as slowly as we want. It’s our choice. Crawl, walk, run. Isn’t that how we learned? Think of a youngster learning to walk. Maybe your own child. They take their first step. We laugh and clap and pick them up and kiss them. In a very short period of time they are toddling, then walking, running, skipping and jumping. They got it all from our pleasure and their pleasure as we both opened to something new and enjoyed it thoroughly.
Now, take the same example with a different point of view. As our child takes their first step and then topples over, we rush over, pick them up and start hollering that it’s just not enough, they better get it right, and what’s wrong with them that they can’t get this right the first time! Sounds familiar in our own life as an adult, doesn’t it? We take our first step into something new and, like a child learning to walk, we topple over. We criticize our self so much that we decide taking more steps may just not be worth it. If we do continue, we grit our teeth and fight off the critic in us who is goading us at every turn. When the result is accomplished, we are called a “survivor.”
Isn’t it time to celebrate every step we take?
If you said, YES!, then you’ve come to the right place to transform from the inside/out. Manifesting the life we desire requires a shift in energy, consciousness, and a recognition or awareness at the core of our being that the time for change is NOW. Trusting in our self that we have the power to create the life we envision. This is the essence of being in the Vortex, spiraling upwards, aligning our physical and non-physical self to Be the Energy!
Before we begin the process of activating our Energy, it is important to understand that at our core, we are water. Up to 90% of our body weight is water which is not only the essence of life as a way to digest food, transport waste, and control our body temperature…it is a CONDUCTOR of ENERGY!!
Activating our energy enables us to create the life we deserve to live. The power source is our Chakras, our internal Points of Power. We came here with them already installed, no assembly required. They are designed to work individually and collectively for our benefit. Each one has a purpose. They are unique to us from a frequency or a vibrational energy perspective. Panache Desai calls our energy our ‘soul signature’. Like a snowflake that looks similar to others, it floats, and melts, yet each one has a unique design. Our Chakras are all in the same place in everyone’s body and they all have the same color and characteristics. The only difference is our unique vibrational frequency. Like the frequency of a radio station, this frequency is ours and ours alone. That is what makes us who we are. And when we are vibrating at a level that is aligned with our intentions, we attract people, opportunities, and miracles. That is the Law of Attraction in action.
So, what are they, where are they located, and why should I care? This is a question that might be going through your mind.
Chakras are the relay points for our Chi, or life energy. I call them our Points of Power, POP’s.
The scientific term chi (prana, ki, orgone), is defined as those mysterious energies that are in constant need of balancing, harmonizing, unblocking, channeling, funneling, and transferring in order to maintain perfect health.
From my perspective, our Chi is not that mysterious. Imagine that our body has 7 batteries that start at the base of our spine and are strategically placed at different points in our body until they reach the crown of our head. They each have a +/- on each end. When they are aligned, energy flows. We are ‘in the zone’, soaring, operating on all cylinders, cruising, ecstatic, relaxed, euphoric, loving, peaceful. If one is at an odd angle, then we have a dis-connect or a blockage. We’ve all had to replace batteries on a remote, or a mouse, or a toy. If the batteries are not placed in the correct position with the +’s and –‘s lined up perfectly, it won’t work. That’s what happens to us when our inner batteries are not aligned. It’s what we feel when we say we are ‘out of sorts’, or in pain, or we are out of synch, jammed up, shut down, or out of alignment. Often times this condition is expressed in physical issues, like rashes, depression, or pain in different parts of our body.
It is this energy, which exists within us that is vibrating, and it is the key to our relationships, our career, our life. Our energy either attracts or repels. Magnifies or diminishes. We can use it to isolate, restrict, create conflict, or we can use it to enlighten, invigorate, and transform how we operate by activating our inner POP’s to realize our full potential. It is our ability to align and focus our energy that is the key to happiness, joy, health, prosperity, and love. We are the Vortex of our life! This I know for sure.
Being the Energy is focused on creating a ‘belief system’ for our self that begins with who we are and is manifested in everything we do using Energy Activation Techniques, or E.A.T.s. Each E.A.T. is focused on a Chakra which can be used in whatever way we need, individually, collectively, in different sequences or groups depending on the situation or circumstance, for our benefit. We write the script and design the process. In this blog series, you will be offered the tools to accelerate and facilitate your ability to live a life based on pleasure, passion, joy, and light. In the language of technology, think of the material and processes as an operating system which we can use to create joy in our life and be in harmony with the world around us. We will learn a system that empowers us to Be the Energy, as a way of living, that enables us to turn up our energy to transform our life in ways we desire and in ways we never knew we could.
As with any process, not every question is fully answered; not every challenge solved. As you read these posts, you will have to make decisions, design your own roadmap, take detours, create the next chapter – to cut your own path through it, so to speak. This is not a ‘One Size Fits All or Most’, it is our life that we are creating. We write our own book based on our beliefs, values, and experiences. It is the Book of _______(insert your name). And it has many chapters, some yet to be written.
My advice is to read it with your body and emotion, as well as your eyes and intellect. Feel the material. Do the exercises. Don’t limit your self to understanding it intellectually. Feel where our energy is and where you get more turned on! Experiment with the techniques and practices. Don’t just take my word for it. Have our own experiences and then you will be able to take your word for it.
“When we change our consciousness, our awareness of what is possible changes as well. We then make progress, which alters consciousness, increases awareness, presents possibilities, and circles back to more progress. It is a virtuous circle”
Bill Clinton
What if…?
Vibrational frequencies are something we have come to understand when we speak about radio, tv, and wireless networks. It is clear to us that in order to listen to a specific genre of music, or watch a show, or use WIFI, we know we need to tune in using their unique locator in the spectrum. What if….there were other frequencies that are not part of the spectrum that allows us access to these stations? What if…each of us had our own unique frequency? What if…we had the power to increase or decrease the intensity of our frequency? What if…the vibrational quality of our frequency affected every relationship, opportunity, and experience?
WILL YOUR LIFE IMPROVE? WILL THE WORLD BE A BETTER PLACE?
There is scientific proof that everything is vibrating, people, things, plants, even diseases. We have the ability to measure it using the same tools as they do for those frequencies in the spectrum, MHz or megahertz. The rose, for example, is the highest vibrating flower, at 320 MHz. Bruce Tainio of Tainio Technology developed the equipment to measure the bio-frequency of humans and foods. The results were astounding!
Vibrational Frequencies
- Human Body……………..62-68 MHz
- Human Brain…………….72-90 MHz
- Cold/Flu Symptoms…..58 MHz
- Cancer…………………….. 42 MHz
- Processed Foods………. 0 MHz
- Fresh Produce…………..up to 15 MHz
- Fresh Herbs………………20-27 MHz
- Live Sprouts………………150 MHz
- Essential Oils…………….52-320 MHz
Everything has an electromagnetic field, including us. The difference is that we have the ability to illuminate our energy and increase our vibration whenever we want to using different techniques. The rose will always vibrate at the same level. It doesn’t have the ability to amplify or diminish its energy. Thus, the phrase, a rose is just a rose. But human beings are different and unique. We are able to increase or decrease our energy vibration through our thoughts, actions, and beliefs.
By vibrating at a higher level we can transform ourselves, our lives, and the world that we live in. We understand that the food we consume impacts us from a health perspective. What if…. that in addition to food, activities, and life style, there was an inner circuitry that you could use to elevate your life in significant ways? Would you be interested? Would you want to know how to turn that dial up?
What if….I told you that you can have it anytime and anywhere you want, that it doesn’t cost a thing, and that it is available to you right here, right now? Would you still be interested?
A whole new world. One that we define on our terms based on our vibration, our energy. How would that feel? What words would you use? Energized, ecstatic, joyful, open to all possibilities, positive, calm, happy?
Before you discount that this can happen or that we have the power to make this happen, take a moment to think about how our world has changed in the past 5 years. Look at examples of this in our everyday life… in how we connect, communicate, operate, interact, do business, shop, date, explore, expand, evolve, and learn. It is a new world and a new world order.
We have the power to take our life to a new level. It is already within you, waiting for you to tune it up, turn it on, and create a new reality for your self. Let’s take this journey together. It isn’t far and won’t take long. There are only 7 stops along the way. And you are already hardwired! All you need to do is activate, align, and accelerate to a life that is beyond your line of sight. Still interested?
Stay tuned for our first stop, Point of Power…POP #1.
Your Most Precious Asset!
You may think that your key differentiator is the bells and whistles of your product, service, or solution. Does it do more than your competitors? Is it easier to use? More flexible? The real answer to what makes you stand out from your competition is your people who are your ‘face’ to the customer. They buy them first, then the company, then your product or service.
That’s why when people change jobs their customers follow them…and so does their business.
Your people are the reason that buyers buy!
So, doesn’t it make sense to invest in bringing on-board the people who have the skills, behaviors, and interests that align with your business and culture? This is a fundamental element that many companies are starting to understand.
Over 95% of Fortune 100 companies use personality assessments to augment the interview process. It prevents hiring “mis-fits” and ensures a long term relationship that will enable the person and your business to grow. A study of 20,000 newly hired employees showed that 46% of all new hires fail within 18 months. The time, energy, and money invested into bringing a new person on-board is one of the most important decisions you can make. The challenge is how can you increase the probability of success by identifying the best person for the job who will make a long term impact on your top and bottom line?
One word. Assessments.
You may think of assessments as a tool, but actually, they are part of the process. Strategic Workforce Planning is a process that ensures that your business has the right people in the right jobs at the right time to achieve your expected results. This discipline helps organizations understand their current state, forecast talent gaps, and take the necessary steps to close those gaps. It is a core business process that is typically handled by the HR department, but it is so important to the success of a business that the business leaders from cross-functional organizations need to approach it proactively and take ownership of it.
The steps in the Strategic Workforce Planning process are:
- Establish where your business is going
- Business strategy drives the organizational structure and jobs
- Understand where the labor market is going
- Scanning the market helps you identify talent supply and limitations
- Identify your future talent demands
- Business strategy drives organizational design and job design
- Assess your current talent inventory
- How well the worker ‘fits’ in their current role, do they have the skills, demographics of the population
- Identify your talent gaps and your strategy to close them
- Four options: Build, Bounce, Buy, Borrow
- Implementing the process
- Standardization, top level sponsorship, focus on critical roles, pilot, establish and track metrics
Whether you’re growing, contracting, or re-organizing, it is important to use tools that will ensure your business strategy is aligned with the plan, people, processes, and platforms that will support them. Navigating successfully in today’s world requires that the right people are in the right seats on the bus. Or they need to be on a different bus.
One way to accomplish this is through using an effective and comprehensive assessment tool at the very beginning of the trip and at certain checkpoints along the way. The danger is that the bus will keep rolling along, absorbing the speed bumps and pot holes, until it hits a dead end or stops working!
People, your most precious asset, are the critical ingredient to your success. Assessments are the tools that can help you hire the right people, ensure their retention, and enable you to create the roadmap to growth, productivity, and profitability! Let’s put the pedal to the metal and keep your business rolling along!
